Dr. Simi Linton will facilitate a Professional Development
Day workshop entitled “Integrating Disability Studies into the Academic
Curriculum: A Faculty Seminar” from 2-4 p.m. in the MPR and will also be the
keynote speaker for a presentation entitled “Disability and the University:
Examining the Curricular and Extra Curricular Imperatives” at 1:00 in the MPR.

Dr. Simi Linton will do a campus-wide multimedia
presentation in SWC Auditorium from 4-5:30 p.m. entitled “My Body Politic: An
Illustrated History,” followed by a reception and book-signing at 6:00 p.m. in
the Russell Wright Alumni House.

LUNAFEST 2009 – films by, for, and about women, 7:00 p.m.,
ATS Auditorium, $3 students,$5 general admission, sponsored by SRU Women’s
Studies. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund.

Dr. Lisa Wade will present “Female Genital Cutting in the
American Imagination” during Common Hour in SWC Auditorium.
11/19/09
Ms. Valena Beety, former prosecutor in DC and national
expert, will be presenting on domestic violence and the law, title TBA.
