For Your Information....

Dalai Lama Renaissance is an award winning 2008 documentary film produced and directed by Khashyar Darvich and narrated by Harrison Ford that tells the story of 40 Western thinkers who travel to the Himalayan Mountains in India to meet with the Dalai Lama to discuss world issues - and the results are both humorous and compelling. For more information on this film: http://www.dalailamafilm.com/index.html

The mandalas created on the monks' tour will be two dimensional sand mandalas. The construction of these images will require between 75 and 125 hours of painstaking effort, completed by several monks at a time. Upon completion of the mandala, the monks will purposely destroy the magnificent work of art. The Buddha's last words were "All things are impermanent, work out your salvation with diligence." In upholding the principle that life is transient, the monks will sweep up the mandala in a ritualistic ceremony.

The Tantric ritual of Vajravidharan is a ritual of purification and healing. In this ritual the vajra master will lead participants through visiualization and ritual to cleanse participants, remove negativities, and offer protection. While this ritual is open to the public all participants who are able will be asked to offer a small donation

Kundun, directed by Martin Scorsese, is based on the true story of the discovery and the transformation of the fourteenth Dalai Lama from a two-year-old boy to a the spiritual leader known as the Dalai Lama or 'Ocean of Wisdom.'  The film explores the basic tenets of Buddhism, traces the suffering of the Tibetan people and reveals the hard decisions that the Dalai Lama has to make to preserve Tibet's people and their culture
