Welcome to SRU Intramural Sports

ACIS Sponsorship with SRU

November 19 , 2008
All Events as Scheduled

The Slippery Rock University Intramural Sports Program incorporates a variety of sports for all levels of competition. SRU students, faculty, and staff members are welcome to participate in sports such as flag football, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, soccer and many more. The Intramural Sports Program gives the SRU Community opportunities for healthy competition, fulfill fitness needs, meet new people, and ultimately, have fun.

The SRU IM Sports Program also provides students with on-campus employment to develop a good work ethic, and strong leadership abilities.

IM Sports is now accepting applications for Site Supervisors for the Spring.

Intramural Sports Field Development has Begun
The development of the intramural sports fields will begin this fall. The development work will transform the area into two softball fields and four multipurpose recreational sports fields for flag football, soccer and ultimate Frisbee. Ultimately, the fields will be lighted and include additional amenities such as basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, dek hockey and a building that includes restrooms and storage.

This development will create a temporary inconvenience in preparation for a permanent improvement. The construction work will limit the registration number of teams for the 2008 fall intramural sports season. The alternate sites to be used, Wally Rose Field (behind Rhoads Hall), the football practice field and Old Thompson Field, can simply not accommodate the average number of intramural sports teams registered.

We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. It is projected that the new complex will be available during the fall 2009 semester.
