If I'm already registered at home, can I register here?

Yes! You simply enter your old address on the form so a notification process kicks in, guaranteeing that you will not be registered in two places. There are lots of advantages to registering here -- you don't have to worry about an absentee ballot, the polling station is just blocks away, and PA is a swing state, so your vote really, really counts!

If I register here, can I re-register at home for future elections?

Yes! You simply go to your local courthouse or fill out a form on the web and send it in. That will supersede your Lancaster, PA registration.

Can I be registered in two places?

What is the deadline for registering for the 2008 presidential primaries?

In Pennsylvania, you must register by March 24, 2008.

It depends if you live on- or off-campus.

Do I need to take anything?

Yes, the first time you vote in PA you need to produce some form of ID. We recommend that you bring your SRU Student ID card, and (if you have it), your voter registration card.  The latter is not mandatory. Other forms of identification are acceptable too, but the student ID is highly recommended.
