Dedicated to the educational improvement of SRU students within the HSM major/minor.

American Society of Safety Engineers (Student Section-ASSE) -- Dr. Joseph Cali x2260

The purpose of the student section at Slippery Rock University is to promote the Safety profession and Safety education and to foster the professional well-being and development of it's members within it's campus and it's community.

Computer Technology Club -- Dr. Michael Conlon x2143

The club is an academic/professional organization that focuses on exploring, understanding, and spreading our knowledge of computing technology.

Council for Exceptional Children ---- Dr. Michelle McCollin x2463

CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities--students with disabilities and/or the gifted.

Criminology Club-- Dr. David Champion x4462

The purpose of the organization shall be to express an interest in criminology.  Also, the member of this organization generate their ideas and share information with current students and alumni contacts.

 Environmental GeoScience Society -- Dr. Julie Snow x2503

The organization is a platform for like-minded students to come together and discuss ideas involving the protection and advancement of the environment.

Provides opportunities for professional, development, student-student/student-professor relationships and networking, academic guidance via special lectures, conferences, social events and educational trips.

This is an national Communication association Honor Society. The purpose is to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in Communication Studies. To stimulate interest in the field of Communications. To promote and encourage professional development among Communication majors. To provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas within the faculty/student relationship and to explore options for graduate education in the field of Communications.

Music Therapy Club -- Susan Shuttleworth x2447

The music therapy club is available to all music therapy students and anyone interested in music therapy. The club's purpose is to share information on music therapy and to promote the standards of the profession to club members and the public.

Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA)-- Ms. Stacey Steele x2440

This organization is for anyone who has a divine and serious interest in music education.

Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) -- Ms. Joanne Leight x2795

Develop professionalism and prepare health and physical education majors for successful careers.

Philosophy Club -- Dr. Andrew Colvin x4994

Promote philosophical activity among undergraduates across the campus and to facilitate communication between students who have an interest in the pursuit of wisdom. Meet for general discussion, invite speakers, view films of philosophical interest and attend conferences. All students encouraged to attend.

Pre-Physical Therapy Club---Dr. Meg Michaels x4900

To provide information regarding the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program to undergraduate Pre-Physical Therapy and 3+3 DPT students. We also guide and help these students with the application processes and give insight to the DPT career.

Rock SAR (Search and Rescue) Club--Dr. John Lisco  x2596

To provide member with the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in practical search and rescue operations as well as rope work, climbing, hiking, camping, wilderness first aid, ICS, wildland firefighting and public service.

Secondary Ed. Club is committed to furthering the professional development of our members.  They travel to schools and other educational institutions to observe and learn about future careers.

 Therapeutic Recreation Club  -- Ms. Debra Hutchins x4402

The Therapeutic Recreation Club is open to all Therapeutic Recreation Majors. The club is involved in various promotional activities in addition to raising funds for Therapeutic Recreation student travel to conferences and facilitating or assisting with events that advocate for persons with disabilities.
