Reality Biography
| Hey everyone, welcome to my Rock Reality Web page!
My name is Jason Pitassi, and I am a sophomore secondary education
history major, who is also planning on earning a minor in coaching. I
love being a student at Slippery Rock University mainly because it is in
a small town with a big name. It fits my needs and I can't even
imagine myself going anywhere else for an education. |

I graduated from Chartiers Valley High School in the
spring of 2006. I played football for one year, basketball for two
years, ran outdoor track for three years, ran indoor track for two
years, and ran cross country for two years. I graduated 98th in a
class of 266. I was a member of the National Honor Society and
Varsity Club. My high school career was more or less unorthodox in
the event that my senior year was probably my hardest. I wanted to
get college credit by taking AP classes and C.I.H.S. (College in the
High School) courses which was definitely one of, if not the, best
decisions that I made in high school. My senior year came and
went, summer flew past like it normally does, and before I could say
"I-am-a-freshman-in-college" my parents and I were unpacking my clothes
and food in my brand new college dorm room at Slippery Rock University. |
| I was concerned about my family after we unpacked
because I had no idea what their life would be like without me back
home. My family plays a huge role in my life, and this would be a
drastic change for them. I am sure my Mom and Dad would be fine
without me there, because it would be one less child asking for the car,
a few bucks, or wanting a bonfire in the back yard. What I was
concerned with most was my brother and sister. Dave, my brother, is now
a senior at Chartiers Valley High School and is more than likely going
to go to Slippery Rock University next fall. My sister, Teresa, is
a sophomore at Chartiers Valley High School and is enjoying every moment
of high school. It turns out that they were fine without me at
home, but still missed me on occasion. |

The time had come, my parents had dropped me off...I was
completely unpacked, and I was on my own. This had been my
dream all summer, living on a college campus. My only question was, "Now
what?" My dreams had never gone any farther than being on my
own, I had never planned what to do with all of my time.
Classes hadn't started so there was no homework to be done, I
didn't bring a TV so there was nothing to watch, and I had
arrived before all my roommates so there was no one to talk to.
However, at that moment, my roommate Adam walked into the room.
I helped him unpack his stuff along with his parents, we went to
the dining hall for the first time and my college experience was
underway. We came back to see that our other two
roommates, Mike and Phill, were all moved in as well. We
got to know each other, which was good, because we would all be
living together for the next nine months. |
