Intramural Sports Handbook

 
Rosters and Registration

Section 1: Eligibility
Students currently enrolled at Slippery Rock University as an undergraduate student or graduate student are eligible to participate in the Intramural Program. A student participant is ineligible for any continued intramural participation, as of the date he or she withdraws from school. VARSITY ATHLETES: Individuals listed on the current year’s varsity sport roster may not participate in a same/comparable intramural CLUB SPORTS ATHLETES are permitted to participate in a same/comparable sport, but are limited to the amount of player per team, per sport.
SRU Varsity Sport – Comparable IM Sport
Baseball/Softball – Softball
Basketball – 3 on 3, 5 on 5 Basketball
Football – Flag Football
Soccer – Outdoor/Indoor Soccer
Volleyball – 3 on 3 and 6 on 6 Volleyball

SRU STAFF and FACULTY: are eligible to participate in Intramurals if they hold a current 4-month ARC membership.

NUMBER OF TEAMS: A participant is eligible to play on one team and one team only, unless one of the teams is co-recreation. The individual playing on two teams, will automatically be disqualified from participating in the division in which the offense occurred, for the remainder of that sports season. In addition, any games the participant played in illegally will result in a forfeit. TEAMS VIOLATING ELIGIBILITY RULES WILL BE INELIGIBLE FOR PLAYOFFS.

IDENTIFICATION: A valid Slippery Rock University ID is required to be eligible for participation in any intramural activity. A valid SRU ID must be presented to game/contest officials before participation. NO ID=NO PLAY!

PARTICIPATION: Is defined as the player’s name being listed on the game score sheet.

ROSTERS: When registering all team rosters must have the minimum number of players needed before being accepted. All teams are permitted to make roster changes until the second Friday after league play commences. All roster alterations must be completed at the Intramural Office and filled out accurately. Roster minimum and maximum numbers are listed on each individual sports roster sheets.

Rosters can be picked up at the Intramural Office in the ARC. Registration Deadline us by 7:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the sport start date unless otherwise noted. The captain's meetings are conducted on Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m. in the ARC. Return to IM Handbook page.
