Student Employee Job Descriptions
I. Job Summary
Climbing Wall Supervisors are responsible for assisting members with climbing wall equipment, belaying climbers, and creating a safe and fun environment. The climbing wall supervisor will accomplish this by providing information, training and supervision. These students are on duty to stress safety and encourage patrons.

II. Job Relationship
A.Responsible to: Campus Recreation Director
B. Supervised by: Coordinator of Wellness and the RWFC
C. In the absence of the coordinator and director, the Climbing Wall Supervisor is under the supervision of the Graduate Assistants and/or Building Supervisor.

III. Responsibilities
A. Follow proper wall opening and closing procedures.
B. Ensure the safety of all patrons utilizing the climbing wall; remedy all unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
C. Apply the climbing wall policies and procedures at all times.
D. Maintain positive public relations with ARC members and guest.
E. Instruct skills and safety classes, administer tests and certify climbers.
F. Completion of all administrative paperwork during scheduled shift.
G. Inspect, issue and maintain climbing equipment; document unsafe equipment and remove in from the inventory to be repaired or replaced.
H. Provide first aid in emergency situations.
I. Assist in the changing and marking of wall routes, as determined by direct supervisor.
J. Perform general custodial and maintenance functions, as necessary.
K. Complete annual blood borne pathogen training.
L. Other duties as assigned

IV. Position Qualifications
A. Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR (American Heart Assoc. Level "C" or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer). Must be current at time of hire.
B. Experienced climbers are preferred, not required.
